Sandhill Review  showcases the work of Saint Leo University students, faculty, staff, alumni, university literary arts programs and invited writers. It is produced by the students and faculty of the Department of Language Studies and the Arts and supported by the College of Arts and Sciences. The editors invite electronic submissions of poetry, prose, artwork, and photography that addresses the theme, which changes each year.

We are open to all styles from traditional to experimental. We yearn for fresh, moving images, deep artistic and intellectual connections and unusual viewpoints. That being said, we also want work that is accessible, inventive, beautiful and maybe even provocative. The field is wide open, so create work that suits the current theme and send it out to play with us!

Our 2023-24 theme is "Traditions."

Famed French Philosopher Jean Jaures said, “Tradition does not mean to look after the ash, but to keep the flame alive.” How have traditions influenced you? Do they elicit positive or negative memories? How do the traditions you follow impact your view of the world? Your work could explore a cultural, regional, or religious tradition. Interpret the theme as broadly as you wish. The deciding factors for publication will be artistic originality, craftsmanship and excellence. Send us your best works.
